A Devotion By Tess Martinez

“WE GIVE praise and thanks to You, O God, we praise and give thanks; Your wondrous works declare that Your Name is near and they who invoke Your Name rehearse Your wonders” (Psalms 75:1 Amplified)

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the [consistently] righteous man [upright and in right standing with God] runs into it and is safe, high [above evil] and strong” Proverbs 18:10 Amplified)

Alone with God I Feel Safe

Alone in Your presence, I feel safe and secure. I savor every moment. I am drowned by the intensity of Your nearness. I hear my heart beat in tune with Your immaculate heart. My thoughts rise above the narrow limits of my mortal existence.

My eyes are open to see Your eternal glory. I long to rest in You Lord. Make it last as long as it takes. My entire being is drenched by Your encompassing love. Transform me into Your throne of praise that I may sing with Your angels and cherubim. “Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of Host, heaven and earth are full of your glory.”

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and] refresh] your souls.]” (Matthew 11:28 Amplified)

The Lords Invitation to You and Me

I tell you, “Your heart will be restless until it rest in me” For what does it profit you if you gain the whole world but suffers the loss of your soul? I alone will suffice. I alone can satisfy the longings of your soul. I alone can give you peace that transcends your human understanding.

I am here ready to take you in My loving arms. My arms are wide open to welcome you from the crazy world of vain ambitions. Running around is like chasing the rainbow. Your efforts will be in vain; you will search, but to no avail. Test the clear water of life I offer. You will never regret, for what I offer, is everlasting happiness.

“FOR GOD alone my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation” (Psalm 62:1 Amplified)

“But I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me” (Psalms 131:2 NIV)

Come in Silence

Come to me in silence and I will read your heart. You need not say a word or bat an eyelash. Just keep still and listen (Psalms 46:10). In silence, you can hear My whispers. In silence alone, you can feel the intensity of My tight embrace. When you are quiet, you will never miss Me passing by. I will enter into your consciousness only when you are quiet within. I can not be heard by a troubled heart. I want quality communion with you. Get your heart ready for I am waiting for you√Ę‚ā¨¬¶

I know you in-depth (Psalms 139 13-18). Without saying, I know your needs (Matthew 6:8). Open our line of communication by being quiet and keeping still. Without any doubt, you will hear My reply in the form of ideas, insights, counsel and wisdom. I will come to your aid as quick as flashes of lightning. It will be awesome and you will not be yearning for anything more. I will give you the fountain of contentment.
Solitude and silence are inseparable twins. In whose heart they are, I dwell. Make your heart love solitude and silence and I will come with the speed of light.

“As for me, I will continue beholding Your face in righteousness (rightness, justice, and right standing with You); I shall be fully satisfied, when I awake [to find myself] beholding Your form [and having sweet communion with You]” (Psalm 17:15 Amplified)

I say, “Yes to Your Invitation!”

Solitude in prayer brings me interior peace. It gives me a clear definition of my eternal goal. It lessens confusion and distraction which keep me from focusing on Jesus, the lover of my soul.

Time spent in idle talk is a waste of energy. Time lost can never be taken back.
Silence ushers the communion of my entire being to the Holy One.

Solitude tempers my desires and tyranny of materialism. Solitude refines my soul. It brings about contentment. The more often I commune with God, the simpler I turn out to be. It is in solitude alone that I can meet the Lover of My soul.

My Prayer:

All things come from you Lord. All are possible by Your grace (Mark 10; 27). Give me a heart that loves solitude and silence. Allow me to hear the message of Your love and feel the touch of Your caring hands as I quietly do my daily task. In my walk with You, endow me with a gentle spirit allowing others may see Your gentleness in me (1 Peter 3:4).

With my eyes closed and the serenity of everything around, let me hear the beating of Your heart as I am consumed in Your loving presence. Alone with You My sweet, adorable Holy Trinity, I will find rest and sanctuary.

Reflect and Journal:

1. What has been distracting you from the spending time with the Lord?

2. Take some time to relax in His presence. He doesn’t require talking to know what is going on in your life. He hears your heart.

3. Let the beats of your heart send a stream of devotion to Him. Listen and then take time to write what He speaks to you or impresses on your heart.
