If you look it up in the dictionary prophecy can mean to tell of a future event in order to reveal the will of a deity or be seen as a prediction, a foretelling, foresight or insight. The act of predicting or foretelling is most often what scares or at the very least concerns many believers. Either they discard the value and legitimacy of prophecy or leave it up to someone more qualified or gifted.

Prophecy is often looked at as something the so called “national or local church leaders” engage in and can be seen as something reserved for a select gifted few. It can be seen as something operating on a grand scale in regard to nations and/or governments with little relation to everyday life and experiences. Prophecy is also seen as something a Prophet visiting a local church or conference might engage in. This is indeed true, but prophecy is much more than that.

It is my belief that most of our inability to love God is based on lies we believe about Him…lies often formed in our own wrong belief system according to what we have experienced at the hand of men or circumstances…and a misunderstanding of the Word and God’s nature. Our greatest hindrance to loving God is to believe we are not loved. How can we truly be intimate with someone we aren’t sure loves us?

According to the Word a friend—a brother in Christ is born for adversity. What is adversity anyway? It is hardship, difficulty, danger; unfavorable experiences and yes even great suffering just too mention a few. Many times we judge in times of adversity. I have seen many judging those they know who get sick, have financial issues and so on as being in sin. Nothing is ever that simple. I am not saying there aren’t consequences to sin which sometimes lead to adversity. However, I am saying, “Be careful.” The Scriptures say we are born to bear up one another’s burdens and are called to restore them in a spirit of gentleness. We are to do this keeping in mind our own vulnerability to temptation

Beloved, I have come to redirect your focus and draw you into a place of gratefulness and freedom. I am here to remind you how important it is to enter My presence with thanksgiving and praise each and every time you come. Lay hold of this and it will transform your life. My heart is drawn to My grateful ones. Appreciation and gratitude are the foundations of contentment in all things and enables you to behold Me with a clean and pure heart.

Letting go is sometimes the hardest thing we have to do. Holding on to things can offer a sense of security even though the things we hold on to may inhibit our growth in Christ or actually be harmful to us in ways we may not fully discern. The old saying about the definition of insanity (doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result) is very true when it comes to laying things down to walk with the Lord whose yoke is easy and whose burden is light.

God wants you and I to make healthy, godly choices, in all areas of our life. Just like when we make healthy choices in what foods we eat, it blesses us and others around us. When we make healthy choices in other areas of our life, it also should bless us and others around us. Healthy relationships, healthy social choices, healthy financial choices, healthy spiritual choices, and healthy choices for what we put into our minds. The problem is, we all may have different opinions as to what “healthy” is.

Hunger…thirst…what do they mean? What does it mean to hunger and thirst for the Lord…to hunger after righteousness? These were thoughts, questions floating through my conscious mind this morning amid the warm bubbles and steamy air of my hot tub. Heavy dew like moisture permeated everything while sips of cream colored liquid warmed my throat, satisfying my need to evict the cobwebs left behind by a night of dreams. Ah yes…dreams I wish I could remember. Maybe they were dreams of rain…sweet heavenly rain.

Consider this; friendship is elastic like in nature and has the ability to expand and stretch itself around anything that comes its way giving no matter to race, economic standing, denomination and sees the church as the body of Christ without respect to person or condition.

Yes, many are living somewhere between death and resurrection. We may overcome in one area to find we need resurrection in another. This process renews our mind and causes us to have the mind of Christ line upon line and precept upon precept to take us from glory to glory…taking us to the place where we can say, “It is truly finished!”

This morning God dealt with me on the way to work about DNA. Years ago I received some prophetic revelation on DNA and taught it in Sunday school. He began revisiting what was inside of me in relation to having His DNA or the Determined Nature of the Almighty.
