Have you ever wished you knew then what you know now? Most have. This longing…this wish of many speaks to the value of knowledge and its ability to keep one from perishing. You see, you are made in My image. I am in you and you are in Me. Isaiah prophesied about Me having a spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, power and the spirit of knowledge. He also prophesied that I would have the fear of the Lord. If I needed to walk in the fear of the Lord which is reverence, respect and awe, so must you. I did everything first so that you can. I suffered and endured so you can. I overcame sin so you can. I endured temptations and overcame them so you can. I did all so that you can do all in Me who strengthens you.

Yes, I am the Beginning. I am the End and the All In Between. I am the Was, the Is and the Is To Come (Revelation 1:8). I am all of this just for you. Therefore, let nothing hinder or stand in the way. I am nigh unto your heart. I dwell in you and you contain the thoughts and intents of My heart. Yes, I have already come. Be a trusting receptacle…have a believing heart…I do.

The enemy always tries to defame My character and twist My Word. If it is written down you can speak it just as it was given with great results. This is called resisting the devil and submitting to Me. And what did I say would happen as you resisted and submitted (James 4:6-8). I said he would flee. Now, it may take more than once…in fact, it takes as long as it takes him for him flee. When do you stop? When he flees.

In the natural some Roses of Sharon are trained to grow in what is called an “espalier” style which means it grows on a single plane along a wall or a fence. In doing this, the Rose of Sharon is not allowed to deviate from the given path set for it by the master gardener so that a trellis of great beauty is formed. They are prized because of their ability to withstand heat and bloom when nothing else is in bloom all the while being quite drought-tolerant. The gardener is told not to give up on a Rose of Sharon thinking it might be dead just because it hasn’t leafed out in early summer because it often leafs out and blooms late.

I said, “Lord, I know You have given me a ‘prophetic word’ for this church and You know that You have given me a ‘prophetic word’ for this church, but they do not know that You have given me a ‘prophetic word’ for them. However, I will make myself available by going in and waiting for You to tell the pastor.”

Any true father or mother looks forward to doing all these things and even more for their family if they have the time and energy. However, how can one “run and not be weary” while attempting to do all of the necessary things required in a family these days?

While sitting in my office that day I learned two very important lessons. The first lesson was that God never forgets any promise you have made to Him and He will even help you fulfill it. The second lesson is that we are limited as to how far we can go in life if we do not keep our word to God and to man.

One Sunday morning I sent our ministry helpers downtown to pick up a van load of drunks and street people for the morning service. After a while the back door of the church opened and my helpers were dragging a drunken bleeding man into the building. The man’s name was Johnny. He was the third generation in his family who slept under a bridge in Houston. The reason Johnny was bleeding and crying was because when he saw the mission van coming to pick up people, he fell on his face in the middle of the street as he tried to run away. His face looked as if it had been run through a meat grinder, and his nose was badly broken. He was in such pain that he was weeping out loud.

A few months ago, after preaching the Sunday morning message in a small East Texas church…I went to a home for lunch with some of my dear friends. Everyone in that family is a master cook, so you can imagine how the table was filled with all of those country delicacies. Even though the table was large, the extended family was even larger and more so with my family joining in.
